A retired Greek army officer and former chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff has released a controversial book on Turkey, daily Hürriyet has reported.
The cover features photos of the Ottoman ruler Mehmet the Conqueror; modern Turkey's founder, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk; and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, although author Frangulis Frangos said "none of them are Turks."
Frangos said Greek writings appeared underneath Mehmet’s famous portrait, that details on Atatürk's birthplace and family were wrong and that Erdoğan's "grandfathers fought against the Turks."
Only 40 percent of Turkey's population is Turkish, according to Frangos.
The book focuses on Turkey's "designs to rebuild the Ottoman Empire."
Frangos had earlier said he had "to admit Prime Minister Erdoğan's worth as a leader" while slamming Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu as "arrogant."veteranos.gr
